As the daughter of a retired Air Force officer, Shery has seen first-hand the impact trauma can have, not only on individuals, but also on families.  Determined to stem the impact of all types of trauma, she graduated in the top two of her class at Holy Names University, in Oakland, California, with a masters in counseling psychology and a certificate in traumatology and treatment.  She also received a certification in Biblical counseling from Dayspring University and Seminary, so she can include Christian beliefs and disciplines into her counseling practice at the client’s request.  Shery provides client education about the causes and effects of PTSD, in addition to trauma-focused psychotherapy (EMDR) to improve psychological, cognitive, and emotional health, as evidenced by adaptive personal and professional functioning.
